WHAT WE DO

Angel Hair Foundation is a private, nonprofit organization that helps kids in Oregon who have suffered hair loss due to a medical illness (cancer or alopecia).

The foundation provides the funding needed to purchase an “Angel Hair System.” This superior-quality, medical prosthesis provides kids with confidence and self-esteem and allows them to swim, sleep and play without fear of the prosthesis falling off or slipping.

WHO WE ARE

Staci Wright was in the eighth grade when she was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, a type of bone cancer, and began 10 months of chemotherapy and five weeks of radiation therapy. Staci felt sad and depressed about losing her hair and didn’t want to go to school. Her parents were able to research and purchase a prosthetic hair system. Immediately, Staci felt more confident and was able to socialize without anxiety. But when she continued to meet other kids struggling with hair loss at the hospital, she decided to do something about it.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Your financial gift to the Angel Hair Foundation helps us continue our long-term vision of donating hair systems to children in Oregon who have lost their hair due to medical illness. You are giving them the gift of “normalcy” during a very challenging and scary time.

HOW TO APPLY

Angel Hair Foundation exists to support families facing big challenges. We understand the toll that financial (medical bills, travel, etc.), emotional and psychological costs associated with cancer and medical treatment can impose on a family.  No one should have to prioritize mortgage payments over the purchase of a “hair system” that can offer incredible benefits to the healing process of a child.

YOUR HAIR SYSTEM

An Angel Hair System is not a wig—it is a medical prosthetic and requires a few extra steps when wearing and caring for your system.
